Region 8 Queen's Workshop

Region 8 Queen's 2nd workshop was held May 3, 2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Greenville. The hosting chapter was the Crimson Dolls of Greenville.

Coordinator Marjorie Oliver announced the new web site was almost ready to use
and would include calendar, photo lab and be more user friendly.
Informed everyone several new northeastern counties had been incorporated into
Region 8 and needed help in obtaining contact persons.
Informed all NC State Queens Council would be held in Greenville, March 5, 2011.
Stated only 1 hour was allowed for business meeting and all need to be prompt and
avoid going in and out during meeting.
Announced other upoming events.

The day's agenda included Treasurer Ann Herrick giving finanicial report. Reported
the purchase of a portable sound system from dues collected. Stated 2010 dues need to
be sent to her ASAP at 2701 Royal Drive, Winterville, NC 28590.

Mary Murphy spoke on concerns of the Region 8 and expressed how important positive thoughts were needed in our lives.
Agnes Currin-Tonkin spoke next on Event Policies for Region 8, namely 'policing" of an event.
There was much discussion on this item and afterwards it was agreed that Region 8 would not "Police" at the door of any of their functions.
Joyce Wetherington discussed Activities and many groups later told of the fun they had giving back to the community.

During break time a delicious buffet lunch was enjoyed.
After lunch, a surprise guest, Patsy Cline (aka Myrtle Sutton of Barefoot Beauties chapter)dropped in to mime "She's Got You".
Questions and Answer Time was held .
Door prizes were won by Anne Haizlip and Shirley Hatcher.
50/50 was won by Agnes Currin-Tonkin.
Thanks were given and the successful workshop was dismissed.
